By 2013 the factory is expected to employ about 400 people. Currently about about 90 people are employed at the factory, carrying out preparatory work.<br />“This was one of the most complicated investments in the history of PAIiIZ. It involved the cooperation of 32 different state agencies and enterprises in Poland,” said Mr Majman.<br />IBM Polska was recognized by PAIiIZ for a planned investment which will generate the most new jobs of any foreign direct investment of 2009. Its new IT center, scheduled to open in 2010 in Wrocław, in southwestern Poland, will employ about 2,000 people over the next few years.<br />Woodward Governor Company, the US aerospace equipment producer, was honored as the investor introducing the most modern technologies. Located in Niepołomice near Kraków, its production facility investment is valued at zł.35 million.<br />By the end of November, the value of foreign direct investment in Poland in 2009 amounted to an estimated €4.25 (zł.17.8) billion, about 25 percent less than at the same time in 2008, according to PAIiIZ.<br />“The inflow of FDI to Poland for the whole of 2009 could approach €7 [zł.29.3] billion,” said Agata Mężyńska, a director at PAIiIZ.<br />According to the agency, there are currently 128 investment projects pending. These should create nearly 38,000 new jobs.<br />Twenty-nine new FDI projects were launched in 2009, together valued at €768 (zł.3,230) million.
